TheCovid-19Stories – aims to elevate stories of positivity, humour and human interest to support and inspire social distancing, self-isolation and quarantining.
While collecting stories from participants from around the world (such as Ireland, UK, USA, South Africa), we were reminded how privileged some of us are and the fact that we take some of our basic needs for granted (shelter, security, water, electric, food, connectivity, community).
For this project we have two aims;
Firstly, to help amplify the stories of the voiceless both here and further afield – like those who are living in some of the poorest townships in South Africa with no running water, electric and or food. How can they be expected to self-isolate, wash their hands regularly and stay safe?
Secondly, we also want to raise funds for our friends who continue to work at grass roots level daily facing many dangerous situations in townships in South Africa such as Nyanga and Khayletshia.
